The Royal Lussian Army

The Legion
There is no denying the Lussian Military is absurdly large, with 100,000,000 active personnel in the Army along with 330,208,753 in the Army reserves. It was inevitable when you consider the large population of the country. That being said simply commanding that many men is a herculean task, so the active force is divided into 100 Legions each numbering 1,000,000 (Legio I - Legio C). Many of these Legions have Nicknames and Ceremonies dating back decades if not centuries, some examples include Legio I "The Queens Own" or Legio XII "The Iron Legion". Each Legion is Commanded by a Legatus, one of which, usually the legate of Legio I, is designated by the Monarch as the Prime Legate.

Corps
Legions, despite being far smaller than the total size of the army, are still usually far too large to be effective and economical to deploy. So each Legion is further broken down into 20 Corps each comprising of around 50,000 personnel. Barring total war situations a Corps is usually the biggest unit you will see deployed in any peacetime operation.

Division
Where as a Corps is usually the largest unit you will see deployed and Division is, save for very rare exceptions, the smallest unit ever assigned to an independent deployment. This is also where you start to see more variation in the size of units as thought leans more toward specific roles and tasks than just managing the sheer numbers of people. Some divisions can be as contain as few as 6,000 personnel whilst others can contain as many as many as 25,000
