Government of The Pangaean Union
TPU | GovernmentThe Pangaean Union functions as a semi-presidential republic. An elected President shall serve as Head of State and the General Secretary shall serve as Head of Government.
Legislation is adopted by The Pangaean Union Congress.
The Supreme Court serves as the judiciary.
Residence and workplace of the President
The President of The Pangaean Union serves as the head of state. The President is directly elected every four months and appoints Justices to the Supreme Court.
The President serves as the Foreign Affairs Officer and nominates ambassadors to serve in our embassies.
The President shall also serve as Head of the region's Defense Force. The President can create a temporary regional army to assist embassy allies who request assistance against raiders or to participate in NS events.
Constitutionally, he serves as the region's World Assembly Delegate. The President's consent is needed for the passage of constitutional amendments.
The Deputy President is a member of Congress who temporarily assumes the powers of the presidency should the President resign or otherwise be removed from office; they serve until the election of a new President.

The General Secretary of The Pangaean Union serves as the Head of the Government.
The General Secretary is directly elected every four months.
The General Secretary presides as a non-voting Speaker of Congress. The General Secretary may vote to break the tie. They have a duty to enforce decorum and structure for legislative debate.

The General Secretary's approval is required for any measure to become law.
The General Secretary nominates and coordinates the Cabinet, which consists of a Regional Affairs Minister and the Law & Justice Minister to enable a functioning Cabinet.

The Pangaean Union Congress is the unicameral legislature of TPU. It is also the chief legislative body of the region.
The Pangaean Union Congress creates and passes laws and amendments, confirms appointments, and reviews and approves treaties.
The Judicial Building, meeting place of the Pangaean Union Supreme Court
The Supreme Court is the ultimate court of the TPU and the interpreter of the Constitution.
The Supreme Court's justices oversee trials for regional in-character rulebreakers, they also serve as advisors to Congress on legislation and constitutional disputes.
The Supreme Court is presided over by a Chief Justice.
