Information for World Assembly Voters: Repeal: "World Assembly Border Policy"
GA 564 "World Assembly Border Policy" established an optional free movement zone for WA member nations. This proposal seeks to repeal that resolution due to numerous issues, including vague wording and sloppy provisions rendering the free movement zone actively harmful to participating nations and the resolution creating an unnecessary administrative burden even for non-participating nations.
Ministry Analysis:
While we agree that GAR#564 is a flawed resolution, and would be glad to support a different repeal, a number of unsatisfactory arguments this proposal makes preclude our support. In particular, we take issue with Clause 3(b), which alleges that reference to non-consenting states "is not at all clear in terms of what it means", and Clause 4, which lambasts the original resolution for "requiring" a course of action that only applies to states which consent to its regulations. Simply put, this repeal makes way too many arguments, looking to get votes by quantity instead of quality, and would be drastically better if it focused solely on its strongest points.
