Felix "Angel Actual" Eule is the first commander of the Experimental Operations unit 4, designated "Angel", established under the command of Project PARADISE. Having been only 9 years old when the Retribution War ended at the Battle of Tycon, few outside of PARADISE's top brass are sure why Eule got the position as head of PARADISE's elite infantry unit. Suffice to say, however, Eule's skill as a soldier and commander cannot be denied.
Early Life
Surprisingly little is known about Felix's early life. According to the Imperial archives, they were born on Arcadius, to a pair of married Fusiliers stationed there - however, during the Retribution War, no Fusiliers were officially stationed on Arcadius. Indeed, when asked about their lineage by an Imperial recruitment officer, they simply said they weren't too sure - but that their parents had been soldiers on Arcadius.
They joined the Imperial military a day after their 14th birthday - the age of maturity for their species - and enlisted in the Imperial Combined Arms Ground Forces. After receiving high test scores, they opted-in to special training - the first step in becoming an Imperial Fusilier Ranger. Passing with flying colours, they were first deployed in 9121, alongside a unit of prospective-Rangers, to secure a fortress on the outskirts of the Sigmurid Republic. Equipped with a jump-pack, the then Fusilier Eule proved their efficacy in command - after their commanding Sergeant was killed moments after deployment by a sniper - but also in use of their jump-pack - which would prove to be a staple of their fighting style.
The fact the fortress was secured even against all the odds - especially considering the revelation of Sigmurid spies within the ICAGF who revealed the plan of attack to the defenders - led to the surviving Ranger candidates being recalled to the Arcadius Ranger Training Grounds for a final assessment, led by Haisan Uluvan. The High Commander of the Imperial Military congratulated Fusilier Eule on their salvaging of the operation personally and ordered all the candidates made into Rangers, immediately.
Another three years of operations against the Sigmurid Republic followed, with the now Ranger-Captain Eule and their company performing exceptionally. During the Sigmurid War, they developed a unique fighting style - based around speed and manoeuvrability, emphasising the use of jump-packs and the, less common for Imperial soldiers, grapple-shot - and developed an intimate knowledge of anti-Walker warfare, fighting against Sigmurid bipedal armoured forces. By the beginning of 9125, Eule's company had twice been awarded the Star of Irenton - the second highest military award in the Empire.
In the middle of 9125, Eule and their company were recalled to Arcadius - headquarters of the Imperial Ranger Corps. Unexpectedly, however, they were met by Doctor Martin Anashev - a subourdinate to Doctor Klye Raden - who requested they join him on Aria V after a short interrogation.
Eule arrived in time to witness the second test of the Model-0 Prototype Organic Titan. Anashev, later joined for a short moment by Klye Raden himself, informed them of Project PARADISE's general aims and requested they join the project as a special military unit, to serve as infantry support for what would become the Malaki. After deliberation between the members of the company, they agreed - becoming the first component of Experimental Operations unit 4, codenamed "Angel."
Eule's - designated "Angel Actual" - first assignment was actually to return back to the Sigmurid border regions and recruit some of the Rangers who had served alongside their company. As PARADISE's brass went to Arcadius to negotiate movements of Ranger units to PARADISE's Angel unit, Eule gathered up several more companies worth of Rangers - who respected Eule's uncompromising and effective style of combat.
By 9130, when the first piloted Malaki - the Model-3 Advancer-Class - was tested, Angel had expanded to the equivalent size of a Regiment - with over 3000 soldiers. Eule - who had officially been made a Ranger-Commander, the highest rank a combat Ranger can hold - had become intimate with several members of PARADISE's command structure and - given their high rank in the Project and organisation as a whole - was privy to every piece of information. Klye Raden - famously aloof, especially with soldiers born after the Retribution War - declared Eule "one of my most trusted comrades," - a testament to them.
