United Arms Manufacturers
-
UAM: A juggernaut of an arms manufacturer. A majority of armies, ranging from regulars, to PMCs, to non-state actors all use the vehicles manufactured by the corporation. Seventy three years prior, UAM announced its creation after six corporations on the verge of bankruptcy as Väřnk began to seize arms production as a federal business. The massive company, now controlling (by conservative estimates) 35% of the total market shares for arms manufacturing, was able to effectively lobby against Väřnk's attempts to assimilate the arms manufacturing sector. While companies like Šun and some of the larger firearms manufacturers survived the whiplash caused by 35% of the total market shares being transferred to one entity, but many smaller businesses were forced out. During the cold war and the Second Rmonik-Väřnkik war, profits surged, but the postwar period marked a spike in general corporate taxation as Väřnk attempted to make up money lost during the five year war. UAM and Tškidzm Textiles relocated to the Sehknah foothills of the S'Viben DMZ, an area with zero corporate laws and thus zero corporate taxation. The introduction of private military companies and the Sehknah Mining Corporation lead to UAM establishing a paramilitary wing, primarily made up with war veterans, PMC members, militamen, and former special forces operatives working for the N'Bakä proxy government in the Federal Civil Security League. The radicality of UAM's "security wing" and policies of aggressive expansion are somewhat at odds with the Board of Director's more conservative, old country attitude towards acquisitions, with a preference towards honoring the Sehknah Carta, which established the borders of the five corporate entities in the DMZ and made plans for the divvying of the SIF. As of now, a schism between the two branches has not formed.

Corporate Politics

In recent years, UAM has sought enclosed expansion in its territories as declared by the Sehknah Truce (not to be confused with the Sehknah Mining Corporation Charter, declaring the boundaries of the Sehknah Mining Corporation) focusing on reinforcing its territory rather than committing to outright conflict. However, the security division of United Arms Manufacturers has taken greater control over UAM security forces, and aims to push out the S'Viben Liberation Force in under two years to make room for northern expansion. This is at odds with the Board of Directors, who believe their company will outlive the SLF thanks to pressure from other corporations. Not to mention the Sehknah Truce, while accounting for possibilities of the eventual collapse of the SLF, did not exactly account for an equal partition, as the truce was signed long before UAM had established a private security team. All of this has left the future of the territory uncertain, and it's unclear whether Frugn Contract Forces (and by extension the Sehknah Mining Corporation) or the UAM would get to lay claim to the river terminus.

Production Lines

UAM primarily focuses on production lines involving land and air vehicles. In particular, their line of tanks and helicopters are widely used by armed forces across the world. The UAM capitalizes on its existence in the DMZ to field test new vehicles against resistance groups using more outdated vehicles. While not a sustainable practice, it is certainly effective, and its loss for the chance that an experimental tank may be taken out is heavily offset by continual donations and the complete absence of corporate tax in the DMZ. Unlike other corporations in the region, UAM does not employ child workers. However, its security branch has had accusations of using adolescent forces in combat, though these claims have not been corroborated.
