Plazland, officially known as the Federation of Plajia, or the more commonly known name of Plajia, is a country within central Orientalis. It is divided into 14 administrative provinces called Shengfen, a federal district, three organized territories called Zuzhi, and one occupied reconstruction district called Janus. Plajia has a population of 41 million, making it one of the least populous states in Orientalis. Łomnik is the nation's capital and largest metropolis. Other major cities include Deturu, Hadov, Wronki, Starabin, Gdytów, and Vasika.

Plajia has a tropical temperate climate and it's territory traverses the Western Oriental Tropics, extending from the Gunan Sea to it's north to the Dryzian plains to it's south and the Lemongrove mountains to the east. The longest Plajan river is the Kukhovo, and Plajia's highest point is Mount Yuncen, situated in the Proyu mountain range of the Lemongroves. The country is bordered by The Empire of Rajyam to the south, Kamorye to the north and The Kingdom of Liaozhu to the northeast.

Plazland's history has suffered from attempts to rewrite it by dictatorial regimes, resulting in a disputed understanding of the nation's past among the Formosan archipelago's various nations. According to official reports, Plazanic history traces back to emigration from the Yastreovakian continent in the early 10th century B.C., prompted by persecution by Slavic nations. The means of their arrival in the Oriental continent remains a subject of debate. The civilization flourished in the basin between the White River and the Janus plains, primarily along the coastline where prosperous trading ports existed. Janus, the largest trading kingdom, was established slightly before the city of the same name. Plazanic history witnessed the rise and fall of several regimes after the collapse of the House of Lida and the monarchy's hold on the nation from the late 1890s to the present day. The collapse led to the Provisionary government in Orloha, which later evolved into the United Kingdom of Plazland (UKP). The UKP sought to reintroduce the monarchy through various kingdoms governing the nation. However, the 1950s saw the emergence of Galactism and authoritarianism, culminating in Bogdan's ascent to Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Bogdan established a dictatorship by dissolving elections and gaining approval from the Galactist-held congress. He implemented various industrialization programs, but these plans backfired as Plazland faced international isolation due to the Galactist scare. Despite this, Plazland played a prominent role in conflicts like the Eastern Conflict and the Collapse of Kian Khe, leading the Galactist world. In the 1990s, a coup led by High Commander Korney and other officials took place after Bogdan's reported death. The subsequent September purge resulted in the estimated deaths of millions of people. Resistance groups, including the Marovkin centered around the former Lemongrove regions, opposed the Korney government. The last known resistance group was eliminated, and Plazanic expansion occurred after the global recession in 2030. Korney would meet his end with the event known as the Oriental Rapture, in which the majority of Plajia's population, including the government itself, would disappear overnight for unexplained reasons.

Plajia is a federal state with a parliamentary system. Although a developing country it is the poorest country in Orientalis by nominal GDP per capita, and corruption remains a significant issue. However, due to its extensive population and economy, pre-collapse Plajia was one of the foremost military powers in the world. Due to the collapse of the Korney regime, and the disappearance of a majority of it's population in an event known as the Oriental Rapture, the state is isolated from most of the world in both politics and economics. Due to the effects of war and collapse in recent years, the country has dealt with high levels of terrorism, poverty, and child malnutrition. Plajia's gross domestic product (GDP) is 93k pjr by purchasing power parity and 14.79 billion pjr by nominal values. However, Plajia remains among the world's least developed countries, ranking amongst the lowest in the Human development Index, while its per capita GDP ranking amongst the lowest of any country as of 2033.

Etymology

The word "Plazland" has been used in one form or another since formation of the first large kingdoms across the Formosan coastline. Although, in most slavic languages, Plajia is more preferred over it's germanic variation. Although "Plajia" is not the name used locally by the Plazanic themselves during this time period. It's origin has been traced back through Kriosaivak, Charitian, and Shinnokawan back the Oriental world Plazīa, used in ancient Formosa.

"Plajia" appears in Srećko Novaković's 1740's translation of the journal of Kriosaivak explorer Nikola Ristovski. Ristovski's usage of the Agiorean Plaīn, which was in turn derived from Oriental Plaīa. Plaīa was first used in early Plazanic scripture, including the Bhāttāchāryā (3rd century BCE) and the Order of the Bantu (1st century BCE). In 1855, Vicente Abarquero suggested that the word Plajia is derived ultimately from the name of the small Kingdom of the Palz (1273 - 1382). Although this derivation is still given in various sources, the origin of the Oriental word is a matter of debate, according to the Königsberg Germanic Dictionary.

The official name of the modern state is the "Federation of Plajia" (Germanic Plajian: Federatsiya Gonkhuo). The shorter version is "Plajia" Gonkhuo is derivative of the word Gongheguo, a combination from Gong ("greater") and Heguo ("state"). The phrase developed in the late years of the Kingdom of Janus, as a term in reference to the royal demesne of the House of Kalugin. It was then applied to the area around Gwana (present-day Guna) during the House of Lida and then to Plazland's Central Plain before being used as an occasional synonym for the state under the Galactist regime. It was often used as a cultural concept to distinguish the Agior people from perceived "barbarians". Plazland is sometimes referred to as Plajia when distinguishing the federal administration within mainland Plazland from the Plazanic ethnic minorities in other states.
