TOP MEDOVIAN MILITARY GENERALS AND THE GENERAL STAFF SIGN A LETTER DEMANDING PM PAGOSOV'S RESIGNATION

The Medovian political crisis continues. Non-stop protests in the capital city, Gavarnik, have not stopped as citizens are demanding that centre-left PM step down and initiate snap elections. Just some moments ago the top Medovian military brass published an unprecedent letter calling for PM Simon Pagosov to step down and initiate snap elections. In their letter they stated that "the current government has lost all credibility to lead the country after their numerous failures and their current behavior is an insult towards the Medovian people. The Government must step down and let the Medovian people give their mandate."

A top aide in the Prime Minister's governing party stated that the military's statement is inappropriate and that the military may not interfere in the domestic politics of the country. "What the top generals of the country have done is a grave constitutional violation and all of them will be held accountable," stated the top aide, who also said that PM Simon Pagosov is steadfast and will protect the democracy of Medovia. "The Medovian people gave us a clear mandate and we will serve that mandate. The opposition will not blackmail us neither will the military who has no right to make such statements," stated Prime Minister, Simon Pagosov. It is yet to see how the military's involvement may affect the dynamics of the political crisis, but one this is for sure, it will not have a calming effect.
