PM Simon Pagosov orders crack-down on opposition protests; vows to ‘stay strong’

In talking with reporters, the embattled Prime Minister, Simon Pagosov, stated that he seeks a peaceful resolution of the current political crisis in Medovia and that only democratic measures may be taken to resolve it. He reiterated that he and his party still enjoy sizeable support from the Medovian population and that he will not allow blackmailing from the noisy right-wing opposition in the streets.

This comes after widespread protests shook the country’s capital. Last night Pagosov ordered police and the National Security Service to begin clearing up streets and bring order back to the capital. Pagosov also warned that any attempts at solving the crisis by force will be thwarted immediately, certain rumors have been circulating that the army’s patience is wearing thin and they may resort to more definite actions against the current government if things do not resolve.

The head of the right-wing opposition, Gregor Genoves, who holds deep ties to the Medovian Security Establishment as well as certain Nationalist circles is well respected in the Armed Forces. Genoves has said he will stop at nothing to force Pagosov’s resignation and immediate elections.
