Canton Law Review Act of 1998

This act was created by William Jones Boothe who proposed it to Super Dakotan parliament, so that each canton reviews and revises laws enacted in previous years.

Each canton chooses when to review their laws. South and North Dakota will review their laws every 20 years, Montana will do it in every 15 years, Oregon will review them in every 24 years, and Indiana will review them in every 30. This act aims to ensure that all laws are up to date and will be edited if need be in however many years time.

Each canton will also allow members of the public to vote on the most important laws that need to be reviewed, vote for a preferable revision, and even propose their own solutions to the canton's congress. In allowing citizens to discuss their opinions, an increase in transparency and voter participation will hopefully follow suit.

If desired by the public, these laws can be revised before the official dates of revisal. If this occurs, then the revising date will reset. If no member of the public recommends any changes, then the congress members in the canton will propose changes or alternatives to the current law. If they cannot provide alternatives or they do not gain enough support, then the law will remain the way it is.
