DCA-5287 - Arcana Sanctum

PENDING REWORK, OUTDATED LORE

When the Foundation crumbles.

Picture: Satelite image of DCA-5287 captured by the orbital survey array during an "active" period.

Threat Level: Green
Objet Class: Safe Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Due to it's extreme remoteness, no on-site staff is required for containment. An orbital survey array, bought from the Noneurope Space Program, is to be utilized at all times to monitor any potential activity near DCA-5287, in order to prevent any civilian or military vessel (aircraft or ship) from approaching DCA-5287's vecinity in a 50 km radius. Said orbital survey array will also perform routine thermal activity scans in order to determine if any DCA-5287-1 instances become active (see Addendum Ex-DCA-5287-1). In case of any DCA-5287-1 instance becoming active, Taskforce Omega-28 "Aggressive Headpaters" is to be dispatched immediately.
In the extreme case that Taskforce Omega-28 fails in their task of eliminating DCA-5278-1 instances, the on-site 175 MT dual yield Canary-class bomb shall be detonated, and the resulting explosion shall be blamed on Northern Overture's on-going secret nuclear testings. Structural analysis suggest that an explosion of such magnitude is probably sufficient enough to annihilate the entirety of DCA-5287.

Foundation agents are to be embedded into Northern Overture's, Tenora Basmu's and Imperiya Snezhnaya respective intelligence and military branches in order to make sure information about DCA-5287's existence does not reach the public. It is advised to collaborate with GRU division P in order to maintain normalcy. It is imperative that the Fatui from Snezhnaya *do not* get involved.

Description: DCA-5287 is an underground, underwater city located ██ km north of █████, Northern Overture. The city is built from solid light, and seems to constitute the only know underwater Mirror Sea ever located. Geological studies conducted by Northern Overture's KANSEN fleet, lead by Commander █████████ and Sovetskaya ██████████ the 25h of February 19██ seem to indicate that DCA-5287 resides outside our plane of existence, intersecting with both our reality and an outside, "out of bounds" reality. Architectural analysis indicates that DCA-5287 was not built by the Sirens, as their building style does not resemble DCA-5287's style. Of note is that DCA-5287 seems to posses light antimemetic effects, which provokes light nausea and headaches on individuals trying to discern the details that make up DCA-5287. This is remedied by natural antimemetic resistance and/or regular non-anomalous analgesics like ██████████. Examinations of the geological strata and recovered documents show that this antimemetic effect was extremely sever at one point in time, making DCA-5287 impossible to be seen even by the most advanced of Siren entities. The purpose of this defensive mechanic is still unknown.

DCA-5287 was first discovered in 18██, ██ years before the aforementioned expedition. DCA-5287 came under Foundation custody after the events of the 25h of February 19██, after Dr. █████████ intercepted Commander █████████ and their escort back to Nonamericus territory. Dr. █████████ passed as an emissary working for the First Ironblood, and asked for a private meeting with the Commander. Then she dropped the facade and started the interrogation.

DCA-5287 seems to be present in a "dormant" state, as its entrance is covered by an anomalously indestructible ice sheet. Records indicate that the Northern Overture navy, lead by the light cruiser █████, have used heavy force in order to breach this ice sheet - from small 127mm naval guns to 406mm naval rifles, present in the Sovetsky Soyuz-class - to no avail.

During the Exploration of DCA-5287 conducted by the above mentioned expedition, it was discovered that Commander █████████ holds a special link to DCA-5287, the nature of which is still unknown and could be potentially dangerous. After Commander █████████ managed to activate a device of unknown origin by placing a Wisdom Cube on it, the ice sheet disappeared. Defense mechanisms built-in in DCA-5287 activated, which in turn awoke DCA-5287-1 entities. These entities resemble Siren mass-produced humanoid mechanical constructs, but don't follow any known Siren order. DCA-5287-1 entities are hostile and attack on sight. For more information on DCA-5287-1 instances, read Addendum EX-DCA-5287-1.

Below are various documents and addenda.

We've been working forever on this Project Dawn thing. I don't even remember why we're fighting this war, it might have to do with the infohazard nature of our enemies.
Dr. Aoste and Dr. Anzeel had a discussion the other day, I think it was yesterday. They talked about the project and how important is to buy the fleet time, but they didn't agree on what to do. Thankfully that weird commander came in and gave them some good ideas. I don't know who they are, even if I've seen them multiple times. Is that worrisome? Are they antimemetic themselves? or is this place f*cking with my brain again?

Anyway, I've been pressuring my superiors to contact the Dämmerung guys and get help, we can't do it all ourselves. I'm sure the O5 will be delighted to help us stop the literal end of the goddamn universe.

Just for reference, and in case this survives an eventual collapse of reality: We are the MONARCH Organization. We span all the continents of this God forsaken planet, have the backing of most of the nations on Tegarria, etc, etc, etc. And even with all that might, our previous attempt at winning this war, Ganzir, failed miserably and many KAN-SEN died when we tried to activate the Scranton Reality Anchors which we bought from the Foundation guys.

Oh god, I've been re-reading what I've been writing and nothing makes sense. I think the mnestics are wearing out.

I found my diary again. It's been like 2 weeks since my last entry, working at this site literally eats your brain if you don't take mnestic drugs and I'm new; so I wasn't fully inoculated. Now I am, so I only need to take light mnestics once every 4 days. Mnestics are, like, a substance that forces you to remember things and makes you able to see things you aren't meant - or prepared - to see. The Arcana Sanctum is one of those places, built like this so literally nobody can perceive it even exists. It doesn't show on satellite images, cameras, and you don't see it even when you're inside this place (without taking these subtances of course). I guess it's to make it extremely difficult for the Sirens to find it, although I'm sure they'll find us.

My colleagues found something huge the other day. The Sirens are planning on resetting reality itself, like if it were a computer or something. It's crazy, I have no idea how the heck they're gonna do it, but I guess being an eldritch horror from beyond the stars gives you those powers, huh.
Dr. Aoste seems to want NSS CV-6 Enterprise (Code G) to be the first test subject of this Project Dawn thing we've been working on. I've also noticed that they avoid using the word "Siren", and use other expressions to refer to them. I've heard Dr. Aoste refer to them as "Laplace's demon", which... ugh, scary, just thinking of it sends shivers down my spine.

Let's not think too much about it though, let's talk about the other thing I mentioned: USS Enterprise. Why make her the first subject? I mean, her records indicates she's an amazing fighter and good leader, but I think better candidates would have been Akagi, IRF Hood or [REDACTED BY THE O5 COUNCIL]. Hell, even Juneu. They went through more extensive trauma, in my opinion, so their full potential might be even bigger than this random carrier.
Oh well, it might have been the Commander's influence.

A bunch of colleagues and I have been tasked with extracting the raw [REDACTED BY THE O5 COUNCIL] on the seabed in order to build even better antimemetic defenses. Direct orders from the higher ups, it seems. So I gotta go.

Damn, this place is waaaay bigger than I remember. I wonder how it'd look like without mnestics?

WIP, but basically pay attention to the event.

This addendum are the thoughts collected from O5-4 after inspecting Dr. █████████'s interrogation results, and the pile of documents the exploration team manage to recover.

DCA-5287 is a weird one, don't you think? When the Commander and Bielorussiya activated this thing, something happened that we can't discern. It seems they went inside, got some documents, and went out without facing any opposition? That can't be right, they must have faced against some 5287-1 instances. But also, only the Commander reported having memories of this stuff, while none of the shipgirls remember anything... This is most likely a time-altering anomaly.
Also worthy of note is that the MONARCH Organization has denied knowledge of DCA-5287's existence, and their claims seem to be true. Something fishy is going on here, and my thoughts are as follows:
  1. Project Dawn. Or "Light of Dawn" according to the recovered files. This thing seems to be some sort of project with the intention of creating a separate space from our universe that still is accessible through normal means, but that can be detached at any point from our reality. It seems the MONARCH Organization tried it before, with Ganzir, but failed and it caused the death of many unnamed Kansen. This Project Dawn thing resulted in the creation of DCA-5287 and its successful activation, saving some of them. I speculate, based on the findings in the massive Operation: Siren launched late 19██ (last year), that at least 4 survivors made it to now: NSS Enterprise, IRF Ark Royal, Hiryuu, and Takao. Probably more, like [REDACTED BY THE O5 COUNCIL].

    • Noteworthy, too, is the fact that in our iteration of this universe; Sirens, Kansen, Wisdom Cubes and META Kansen appeared simultaneously. This should raise some red flags, and is based on Sovetskaya Bielorussiya's statements on the origin of the Shipgirls. I strongly believe these made their way here thanks to Project Dawn.

  2. The Northern Overture has been keeping this place a secret for almost a century because, to put it in human terms, it gave them the creeps. They waited until the Commander came in to show them this place. Or, rather, Northern Overture knew the Commander had some sort of relevance beyond our (and the Commander's) human understanding, and they wanted to see what would happen if they took someone important there. Unbeknownst to them, the Commander worked in this facility in some way, shape or form. Now the Northern Overture was faced with one of two decisions: force the Commander to stay and help them organize a true eradication of all the Sirens in the Arctic Circle (starting a huge messy geopolitical conflict that would most likely plunge half the world in a war against them), or just give the Commander away back to Nonamericus, but still be in close contact with them. They wisely choose the latter.

  3. Project Dawn was successfully carried away, but only by mere moments, as either an EK-Class End of Human Consciousness scenario or a ZK-Class Reality Failure Scenario scenario, seem to have happened afterwards. There are no records of the LinkDeux Ex Machina being activated in the recent 3 milennia, so we have no clue as to how or when this happened, and to how or went humanity was repopulated.

  4. The misuse of Project Dawn may result in an intentional Öß-Class "Multi-Universal Amalgamation" Scenario, as we don't know the boundaries of this universe, the pocket universe created by Project Dawn, nor any other closeby universe. It could be a catastrophic event resulting in the termination of uncountable amounts of lifeforms all across the multiverse. Therefore, I propose we reclassify DCA-5287 to Euclid-potissimi, as its containment should be of highest priority to the Foundation, but it does not pose an immediate threat in its current state.

With all of that said,
I hereby officially declare, as stated above, my proposal to reclassify DCA-5287 into an Euclid-potissimi contained anomaly, and to install better special containment procedures.

Remember,
We Secure, we Contain, and we Protect. We don't do half-assed jobs.

The proposal to change the classification didn't pass, with a 3-7-3 Yes, Nay, Abstain vote; although stricter special containment procedures were put into place, like the deployment of an oversized on-site detonation device.
