OVERVIEW

The Serpens Land Space Agency (SLSA) (pronounced as "Salsa") is the national space agency of Serpens Land. It is responsible for overseeing all space-related activities in Serpens Land. The Serpens Land Space Agency collaborates with other space agencies in the Western Isles on larger projects. The Serpens Land Space Agency is responsible to the Ministry of Science and Technology, a ministry in the Serpens Land government.

Serpens Land space research can trace it's roots back to the end of the Imperial War. These small, but important projects were the stepping stones of the modern Serpens Land space program. Between 1952 and 1957, Serpens Land researchers conducted multiple unmanned launches into Earth's upper atmosphere. In 1957, because of a coup led by General Allard, a halt was put on all space research in Serpens Land. Some work continued however, under the disguise of military research. It was during this time that the Aether sounding rocket was developed. Aether is still in use with the Serpens Land Space Agency to this day. Collaborations between Serpens Land and the Alteran National Space Agency (ANSA) began in 1974, and in 1983, Serpens land launched their first satalite: Avenger I aboard an ANSA rocket.

In 1987, the Serpens Land Space Agency was formally established by the Serpens Land government. This was due to the rapid increase of Serpens Land space-related activities. Currently, the Serpens Land Space Agency does not have lauch capabilities beyond upper atmospheric sounding rockets. The Serpens Land Space Agency relies heavily on the Alteran Republics and Corindia for actually launching Serpens Land spacecraft into orbit.

Growing up he attended Prince Royal Secondary School. After secondary school, Chuch attended the Royal Serpens Land Air Force Academy in Richmond, Northland. There, he studied mechanical engineering before becoming a fighter pilot with the Royal Serpens Land Air Force. He served 8 years in the Royal Serpens Land Air Force before going back to school and getting his masters of science in physics. Chuck was selected for the Serpens Land Space Agency's astronaut program in 2011.

JAMES MASSEY BIOGRAPHY Date of Brith: November 26, 1973 From: Duncan, Chatham Background: Fighter pilot Education: Bachelor in mechanical engineering, Ph.D. in engineering Languages: English, French, Nyssic Mission: Corindi-Aizconan Joint Space Station Dr. Massey was born in Duncan, Chatham on November 26, 1973. Prior to joining the Serpens Land Space Agency, Dr. Massey worked as a fighter pilot in the Royal Serpens Land Air Force. He earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Fort Charlotte. He went on to continue his studies at Carisbrooke University where he earned his Ph.D. in engineering. Dr. Massey joined the Serpens Land Space Agency in 2009. In 2017, he was appointed as a Member of the Order of the Western Isles. Dr. Massey is currently posted to the Corindi-Aizconan Joint Space Station, where he will carry out his research until September 21, 2021.
