Chatham is a province in the south of mainland Serpens Land. It is Serpens Land's largest province in terms of population with it's over 10 million inhabitants making up 42% of the country's population. Chatham is also home to Serpens Largest metropolitan area, Duncan which is home to just under 5 million people. The capital of Chatham is New Plymouth, home to around 800 thousand people. Chatham shares a land border with Atonia to it's north. To the south of Chatham lies the multiple islands that make up the province of Fort Charlotte. Chatham is connected to Fort Charlotte by the 16km long Seymour Tunnel which travels beneath the Charlotte Straight.

Chatham was initially governed as a district of the Fort Charlotte Territory of Serpens Land. When the Republic of Erodesia gained independence from the Dominion of Serpens Land in 1915, the lower half of Atonia was amalgamated with the District of Chatham to create the province of Chatham. Until the reunification of Serpens Land in 1957, the Dominion consisted of two provinces, Chatham and Fort Charlotte. During this time, Chatham grew into the largest province in the nation. The city of Duncan quickly became the largest city in the province due to the discovery of gold in the area. By the time of reunification, Duncan had become the second largest city in Serpens Land, just after Fort Charlotte. Upon reunification, the new national government passed the Provinces Act of 1958. Chatham was returned to it's former borders, and the new province of Atonia was created.

The economy of Chatham is dominated by the financial, manufacturing, transport and technology industries. Chatham is largely considered the financial hub of Serpens Land. Duncan is home to the Duncan Stock Exchange (DSX), the largest stock exchange in Serpens Land.

The premier of Chatham is Mariah Hancock, the only female premier in Serpens Land. She is a member of the Labour Party which currently holds a majority in the Chatham Executive Assembly. The Chatham Executive Assembly is unique in that it uses mixed-member proportional representation to elect it's representatives.
