Verustar

Verustar is an binational high speed railway service connecting Bocaugh, South Baba City, Jenkinson, Naviera and other South Baban cities with Grand Dieselton, St. Strasburg, Pyor, Hokajou, and other Crossingian cities. All its trains travel through the Choobaba Tunnel between South Baba and Railroad crossing, owned and operated by Verustar Link (VSL).

The Bocaugh station is Elliott Francisco International, other main South Baban calling points are Roberts International and John Wesley International in South Baba City and Naviera, respectively. Some intermediate calling points in Railroad Crossing are St. Strasburg International and Pyor Track, with trains to Grand Dieselton using Commute Station. There are direct services from Bocaugh to Skyline Street at Valley Park, direct services to northern and central South Baba (Rosebery, Nuoca and Canning), and direct services to the Railroad Crossing countryside.
Both lines in South Baba and Railroad Crossing opened before Verustar services began in 2020, and newer lines enabling faster journeys were added later—FFR in South Baba and D Speed-2 in north-west Railroad Crossing.

Verustar as a single corporate entity is the result of the merger of the national railway companies of South Baba and Railroad Crossing. Its parent company, Verustar Link (VSL), owns the high-speed infrastructure and stations.

Choobaba Tunnel

The Government of the Republic of South Baba initially proposed the construction of a tunnel between the island of South Baba and the continent of Verusa to carry high-speed passenger trains, shuttles for road vehicles and international freight trains. The proposed tunnel connected with the national high-speed railway lines of both Railroad Crossing and South Baba, which were merged into the binational entity now known as Verustar that provides medium and long-distance intercity service in both countries. The construction was largely funded by the South Baban government and private enterprise whilst the project employed workers from South Baba, Railroad Crossing and Minuda.

On 20 August 2020, the Choobaba Tunnel was officially opened, earlier than originally planned, by the President of the Republic of South Baba and the President of Railroad Crossing, Metro Commute, in a ceremony held on the Crossingian side. The South Baban president travelled through the tunnel to Railroad Crossing on a new Verustar train, which stopped nose to nose with the train that carried President Commute from Grand Dieselton City. Following the ceremony, President Commute and the South Baban president travelled on the Verustar train to a similar ceremony in South Baba. A full public service began the next day, and the first freight train crossed over on 1 September.

After months of service, briefly suspended during periods of internal turmoil on the Railroad Crossing side, on 23 July 2021, the South Baban prime minister announced via a live televised address from Government House that all sea links between the Republic of South Baba and Railroad crossing would be suspended for an indefinite amount of time, apparently for a longer period than previous closures. Outbound Verustar high-speed passenger traffic and shuttles on the Choobaba Tunnel were also suspended. International freight trains, air travel and inbound Verustar passenger train service through the tunnel were to be suspended until 1 August but have remained as such.
