This is established by the Lands End Roleplay & Map Clarification bylaw:

1. Lands End roleplay will be strictly modern tech:

   1. If an item is existent in real life, it can exist in Lands End roleplay.

   2. Items currently in the Prototyping Development Process are permitted on a prototype basis in Lands End roleplay.

   3. Roleplay is limited to those animals, plants, fungi, bacteria, etc. (lifeforms) that exist on Earth and their abilities on Earth. The creation of new lifeforms and alteration of current lifeforms is strictly prohibited.
      

2. Only the maps posted in the Official Map Dispatch will be recognized as official:

   1. This includes the Political, Geographical, and Blank maps.

   2. Map claims may be as large, but shall be no larger than 50,000 pixels, on the official map; this is comparable to Bonnie Blue Republic's claim.

   3. The Head Surveyor may use discretion to allow exceptions to the limits set forth on the size of map claims.

   4. The scale of the map is 1 pixel:25 sq mi. This means that a 20,000 pixel claim is 500,000 sq mi.

   5. The maps shall be updated and approved by the Head Surveyor (Hooseria Magna).

   6. The maps shall be updated in the dispatches by the Secretary (Peacockastan).
      

3. Only Shareholders may claim space on the official map:

   1. Map claims shall be removed upon loss of Shareholder Status.

   2. Map claims may be removed by executive order of the Chief Executive Officer.

      1. Executive order may be ruled null by a 2/3 majority vote of the Board of Directors.
         

4. Roleplay must be posted on the Regional Message Board.

   1. All posts in #ic_news must be posted on the Regional Message Board.

   2. All posts in #ic_diplomacy must be summarized in an #ic_news post or placed in a dispatch to be posted on the Regional Message Board.
      

5. One shall obtain consent to use other nations in their own roleplay.

6. Roleplay will be regulated to comply with the rules above:

   1. The Chief Executive Officer has oversight of the roleplay.

   2. The Chief Legal Officer is to interpret the rules and regulations of the roleplay.

   3. The Head Surveyor is to ensure map claims are legal and reasonable.

   4. The Secretary is to ensure the rules and regulations are current and accurate.

   5. Any rulings on the roleplay are open to appeal to the Board of Directors by request of the aggrieved party.

      1. Appeals must be decided by a 2/3 majority vote of the Board of Directors.
         

1. War declarations must have a valid in-universe Casus Belli, subject to roleplay moderator discretion.

2. All wars, with the exception of surprise assaults, which must be approved by the roleplay moderators, and wars of mutual defense, must have a minimum of three roleplay events, defined as in-character diplomacy/roleplay (such as International Council meetings) or in-character news reports, building up to the declaration of war.

3. The result of a war must be decided prior to its incipient.

   1. Should a new nation join the conflict, the outcome may be changed.

   2. A change to the outcome requires the consent of the majority of the involved parties.

   3. All nations who would be on the losing side of the new outcome (as determined by roleplay moderators) must consent to any change in outcome.
      

4. An outline of the war and its outcome must be submitted to roleplay moderators prior to its incipient.

   1. Roleplay moderators may request further plans be submitted as the war progresses.
      

5. In order for a nation to participate in a war, they must have resided in the region of Lands End continuously for at least one month prior to the war’s incipient unless an exception is made by roleplay moderators.

6. The consent of all of the defending parties in a war is required for a nation to participate in said war.

7. The roleplay moderators have the ultimate decision on any facet of a war and maintain the right to retcon it, in part or in full, should they deem it necessary.

1. Claims:

   1. All claims of real-life designs, products, or technology must be approved by an RP moderator and subsequently logged on the respective dispatch for ease of reference.

   2. All claims of cultural artifacts from real-life, such as songs, books, other forms of entertainment, etc., must have said claim reviewed by an RP moderator and demonstrate a significant level of effort put into adapting said claim to the world of Lands End Role-play. The claim will be subsequently logged on the respective dispatch for ease of reference.

   3. Any claim of the origination of an idea, genre, etc. must be agreed upon by all RP moderators. Most claims of this variety will be denied unless the claimer presents a strong reason for the necessity of the claim. The claim will be subsequently logged on the respective dispatch for ease of reference (found here).
      

2. Designs:

   1. All designs, real-life or otherwise, must be submitted to the RP moderators along with a detailed description and a list of nations that worked on the project, separated by in-character and out-of-character. The information will then be logged in the appropriate dispatch.

   2. Should an RP moderator find any flaw in the realism of the design, they have the power to remove the design and request the individual(s) involved with the design to fix the observed problems.

   3. Said presenting individual may, if they believe their request was denied in error, request review of such by all RP moderators who, collectively, shall either uphold or strike down the previous decision. The ruling of the appeal will be final.
