About the Independent Pollster
The Independent Pollster was founded in The North Pacific back in August 2019, to act as an independent source of unofficial vote tallies. The team behind the Independent Pollster felt that there was such a need especially with the difficulties counting votes using Instant Runoff Voting (IRV) methods. With the creation of the Independent Pollster, citizens of TNP could get an unofficial source of results before the actual results come out.
After the September Elections, which the Independent Pollster successfully tabulated with our special vote calculation process, the team decided to go one step further by reaching out to more regions, as well as helping to do candidate descriptions to let new citizens of every region know who is running for what in their region's election. This is being trialed out in the November Elections of TNP (originally meant to be TEP's October Elections but everyone knew what happened that messed up our plans), and will soon be pushed out to other regions.

Our Policy
We believe in publishing unofficial vote counts and vote tallies as a way to check against the official vote counts. On the other hand, we feel that we do not wish to spoil the election by releasing any live vote tallies. To balance our two aims, we have decided that we will not be publishing any full vote tallies before the official end of the election. All tallies will only be updated with exact vote counts after official voting ends. However, we will publish periodic updates with regards to rankings and winning margins, all updated on the respective dispatches.
