How to Establish and Join a Noble House

ESTABLISHMENT OF NOBLE HOUSES AND TITLES
By: Kaiser Fredrick 1 von Hindenburg

Titles:

Kaiser/Kaiserin: The most prestigious title, reserved solely for the monarch(s).

Prince Elector: The title bestowed upon the heir to the throne.

Archduke/Archduchess: The highest attainable noble title outside of the Royal Family. This is bestowed upon those that have gone beyond the line of duty, consistently for the region across a span of time ranging into the months or even years. This is the equivalent of earning the title of Duke/Duchess twice over and led five military campaigns in a capacity whether it is direct command, espionage for a campaign or neutralization of a threat.

Duke/Duchess: The second highest attainable title and bestowed upon those that have gone beyond the line of duty but perhaps have not done so consistently or not for an extended period of time demanding of an Archduke/Archduchess. This is the equivalent of earning the title of Marquis/Marchioness twice over and led at least one military campaign in a capacity whether it is direct command, espionage for a campaign or neutralization of a threat.

Marquis/Marchioness: A prestigious title awarded to those who have consistently served the region well. This is the equivalent of earning the title of Count/Countess twice over and partook in at least three military campaigns.

Count/Countess: A title awarded to younger, more inexperienced people who have displayed their devotion to the region through meritorious deeds. This is the equivalent of earning the title of Viscount/Viscountess twice over and partook in at least two military campaigns.

Viscount/Viscountess: A middle ground title of those who are steadily showing their love, devotion and good results to the region. This is the equivalent of earning the title of Baron/Baroness twice over and partook in at least one military campaign.

Baron/Baroness: The first true noble title, the attainment of this is the equivalent of earning a knighthood twice over and separates those who serve once and then disappear and those who serve, serve and serve again.

Knight: A title awarded to an everyday person who has performed a meritorious deed as a Minister, Military Commander, Ambassador or has received a recommendation from a Minister, Military Staff or the approval of the Monarch.

Establishment of a noble house:

A noble house is established once one has been ennobled to hold the rank of Knight at the minimum.
The recipient of the title shall take a surname should they not already have one and establish their noble house.
To join into a pre-existing noble house requires either a marriage into the house or adoption by one already inside.
Once a house has been established all titles the house holds at hereditary and will pass from generation to generation.

The extinction of a noble house:

Should the last member of a noble house leave the region their noble house is declared extinct with no living heirs.
Should a house go extinct their titles are forfeit and issued to the monarch to use as their own.
A noble house may also be deemed extinct as the result of a title being revoked as a result of a criminal charge of a severe level such as treason.
