Bar - A restaurant
Channel 2 - The Gandoor Broadcasting Network, refers to the channel the network airs on.
Cheap as Bobby - A cheap gift. Comes from Bobby the Cat, mascot of the popular candy Choco-Bitz, which include small plastic toys inside the packaging for children.
Gal pal - The romantic partner of a homosexual woman. Originated in the late 19th century as a coded way for lesbians to refer to their partners, but eventually the term became known and became just another term for a lesbian's romantic partner. Note that the term 'gal pals' refers to two women in a relationship with each other.
Koka - Gandoor's currency, the gdyn.
Pomoi bento - From the Russian word "pomoi", meaning dishwater and the Japanese word "bento", meaning boxed lunch. The phrase originally referred to organized lunches during the era of Prime Minister Alexei Petrikov, but now is used to refer to any unappetizing looking meal.
Privatel - From the Russian word "priyatel'". A close friend.
Programme - Refers to what other countries might call a season or a series of a television program.
School fuku - A school uniform
Smorgas - A buffet that serves food of non-East Asian origin. Buffets that serve East Asian food are simply called buffets here.
The Three R's - Refers to the traditional method of beginning a school day in Gandoor. Students rise out of their seats, cast a cursory nod towards the teacher as a way of respect, and then resume what they were doing.
Transit - The public transit system of Gandoor, usually the bus.
