Introduction: The Khurulen Khaaghanant is a cold nation, full of Lakes, Steppes and Forests, its about 900 years old, but evidence shows that the people have lived there for almost 10,000,000 years and they used a writing system that has suffered no changes and that has reported from glaciar ages to super-volcanic eruptions.
Etymology: The names Khurulen and Khaaghanant are words, that alongside the entire language, are 10 million years old, the 2 words mean "Great Nation" and Khälkhaa means "People".
History: The Khälkhaa have a long history...10,000,000 years of it actually, the history can be divided into 4 branches: Antiquity, the Doom, the Post-Doom and the Unification.
Antiquity
There is evidence that the Khälkhaa people came to their actual homeland 10,000,000 ago via land bridges and eventually settling the zone when the coasts appeared, they are a misterious people of unknown origin and they are presumed to be the first species ever in history, as they left traces of existing 100,000,000 ago via foundings in the North Pole (Borealis).
They brougth the Khïleen (Horse) with them and settled down, during those 10,000,000 years it was discovered that they had an alphabet before the settlements as they left written records in Borealis; as cave and wood carvings show, these people knew the art of making Bronze when they came and thus expelled the natives here, if they even existed as no records are about that, by the time 2,000,000 years had passed these people started living in what they call "Ghërs" (Yurts) and they started to use Iron, thus making them a quite advanced nation in the thecnological Ambit, but they were and are a mostly Semi-Nomad Culture, with the Sedentarism only coming in the Unification. The enviroment back then was even colder, and thus Mamooths and Hairly Rhinos inhabited and still inhabit the land in the more cold areas and horses back then were more hairy to protect themselves, everything stayed peacefull...until the doom, which alterated the culture and mythology of the Khälkha forever and changed the landscape so hard that you could still see the Doom 500,000 years after.
The Doom
It is known that 500,000 years ago, sudden volcanic activity warmed the planet, whom had stayed in an Ice Age for nearly 1,000,000,000 years, then, a super-volcano erupted and created a sound so loud, that all Alterra heard it... Tsunamis ravaged everywhere, Cold started to get worse and then it got Warmer and Warmer...Mamooths and Hairy Rhinos slowly dissapeared or retreated to colder zones...then the sun got blocked and a chain of volcanos erupted in the territory the Khälkhaa inhabited... it was a disaster that killed most of the people and it took 400,000 years to recover...many written records mention this event with very specific data and info, thus its a very known event in history, and the most famous said
By the time 350,000 years passed everything turned back to normal (got colder and people lived their lifes without fear)...but nearly 95% of the Ethnia got wiped out by then and sometimes in the Ulkhee (Mountains) you can find piles of carbonized skeletons in layers of ice.
Post-Doom
350,000 years after the Doom, things went to normal again, but the landspace had changed...Mountains appeared, sepparating them from the rest of the world, more forests appeared and climate got cold enough for Mamooths and warm enough for Horses. Nothing much changed as society turned back to Iron-Age Nomads, until 21,000 years ago when major clans formed, they all claim descent from Modü Shangyüü, the first Brojigin (even when only 1 clan, the Borjigin, can claim that he is his ancestor (duh)). During a lot of time this worked and clans, during the course of milenias, started to become a bit more sedentary about 1,500 years ago, when paper was created and ink was used to write records, instead of bronze plates and iron knifes.
Unification
Suddenly, by 131 A.E, the clans started to follow 2 clans, the Borjigins and the Jamukhas, these 2 clans were the most powerfull, and during that entire year, they fought for the total control of the Khälkhaa, the Borjigin eventually won a decisive victory at the Khurulen Fields and they completely unified the nation under 1 Khaaghan, Temüüjin "Chinggis" Khaagan I. (The war is so extense i can't compress it here and i would rather do a separate factbook)

Demography
The population of the Khälkhaa recovered since the doom and they have nearly reached 20,000,000 Khälkhaa; the total population growth is about 1% and average age is about 36 years, making it a normal population. Most people leave in yurt cities as Nomadism faded away after the doom and more when the Unification came around

Goverment
The Khaaghanant is a system in where a Khaaghan (King) rules, he must be choosen by the Khünii (Chiefs) in a Khurultai, his heir is a Khaal (Prince) and to be elected, he must defeat his brothers (and sisters) in single combat (not kill them) and thus be considered the strongest at the Khurultai, in order to be named Khaaghan after. If anyone that isn't a brother or sister must prove he is a Borjigin in order to gain the title.
Military
The military almost purely consists of Cavalry, Horse Archers and Kheshikhs (Blessed ones), Elite Cavalry. There are some Infantry but mainly cavalry.
