Office of the Consulate - Regional Elections - August of 2018
The LCN series of elections for August of 2018 will formally begin on August 8th, with the first of the three Provincial Elections starting on that date. The officially recognized campaign and preparation season will begin on August first, at which point candidates will begin formal registration to run for office. The LCN Elections will take place over the course of the three Provincial Elections and the Prime Minister Election, which will consist of one or two polls depending on if a runoff is invoked as per the guidelines in the Charter of the Citizens' Assembly and the Government.
Candidates may begin announcing official intent to run for office on August first, but cannot do so later than August seventh.
Candidates who wish to run for Prime Minister will have to announce it within a timely manner of the first session of the Third Citizens' Assembly, before the election for Prime Minister commences.
The Provincial Elections will feature all candidates from a Regional Province on a ballot through a regional poll where only citizens of that province will have their votes counted. Each Provincial Election will be twenty-four hours. The overall first place finisher will be named the Speaker of that province and gain the speaking privileges as laid out in the LCN governing documents. Those who place high enough to gain seats in the Citizens' Assembly will become the Members of the Citizens' Assembly (MCA) for that province. Below are the election dates for each province.

The Prime Minister Election will commence its first round on the twelfth will feature all newly elected MCAs who wish to run for Prime Minister on a ballot through a regional poll where all citizens of the region who vote will have their votes counted. To announce a candidacy, a new MCA will declare their intent to run in the first session of the Third Citizens' Assembly, or shortly thereafter if they are unable to attend during the session. The first round of the Prime Minister Election will last forty-eight hours. If a single candidate gains a majority of the recognized votes, they will become the Head of Government as Prime Minister. If no candidate gains a majority of the votes, the two highest polling candidates from the first round will be placed on a twenty-four hour poll promptly following the first round, and the winner of the two option second-round election will become the Prime Minister.
