The GD Militia of Zather is a gargantuan, environmentally stunning nation, remarkable for its public floggings, absence of drug laws, and stringent health and safety legislation. The quiet, industrious population of 16.801 billion Zatherians hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

The large, liberal, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Environment, Education, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 69.1%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The Zatherian economy, worth 820 trillion IOUS a year, is driven almost entirely by government activity.
