The People's Republic of Yuveska is a huge, efficient nation, notable for its compulsory military service, keen interest in outer space, and pith helmet sales. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 363 million Yuveskans are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The enormous, corrupt, moralistic, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Karymburg. The average income tax rate is 73.5%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The very strong Yuveskan economy, worth 27.5 trillion Yuveskan Rubles a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient, quite specialized black market in Arms Manufacturing, Information Technology, Uranium Mining, and Beef-Based Agriculture. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 75,650 Yuveskan Rubles, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

4-year-olds are often found reminiscing about the 'good old days', the needs of the living outweigh the needs of the dead, more sidewalk is dedicated to animals than people, and any body part that can be cut off a person is no longer considered to be their property. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Yuveska's national animal is the eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to toxic air pollution.

Yuveska is ranked 15,525^th in the world and 476^th in the South Pacific for Most Advanced Public Transport, scoring 2,617.51 on the Societal Mobility Rating.
