The Free Land of World Builder is a gargantuan, socially progressive nation, ruled by the Mage of Space with a fair hand, and renowned for its keen interest in outer space, daily referendums, and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate, democratic population of 19.056 billion little ponies are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The government — a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, liberal, socially-minded morass — juggles the competing demands of Education, Environment, and Welfare. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Trottingheim. The average income tax rate is 94.4%.

The large but underdeveloped equine economy, worth 902 trillion notions a year, is highly specialized and dominated by the Tourism industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology, Book Publishing, and Cheese Exports. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is 47,339 notions, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The nation's apology for those it has executed in the last year has come a little late for some, coffee cups have grown in size to accommodate the huge ingredients list, a sledgehammer and a spray can are seen as the default tools of political debate, and advertisers are struggling to make water sound cool to a twitchy public. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. World Builder's national animal is the red panda, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.
