The Kingdom of Velosia is a massive, genial nation, ruled by King Tohmas IX with a fair hand, and renowned for its museums and concert halls, vat-grown people, and stringent health and safety legislation. Bizarre-looking creatures called 'seadragondogs' dominate wildlife preserves, the government is pouring billions into replacement brains, one does not simply walk into the tundra, and the government has an entire department dedicated to staring at microscopes and writing down letters. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Velosia's national animal is the seadragon, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.
