Events of 24 April 2022

On Sunday 24 April 2022, supporters and members of the party Libertarian Union, rioted and broke into the Parliament of the United States of Dictators, stealing parliament flies and vandalising offices of Senators and Representatives.


Background

The alleged cause of this attack was due to the party Libertarian Union's loss of seats in the 2022 House Elections, members of the party had commenced local protest against the results and called for a local elections. The leader of LU, Haroon Alexander claimed that the results were fake and the NFL and HP had rigged the election. These claims were quickly shot down by the Election Commission, whose staff are independent and cannot join political parties. The EC said the election was one of the safest and secure elections in the United States of Dictators. But Alexander still claimed that the EC was lying.


Encouragement of Riots
On 10 April 2022, Haroon Alexander released a video on Facebook, he said that he and a few of his followers will initiate a protest in Wilmington on 24 April 2022, he called for his supporters to join the protest against what he claimed, ''Rigged Elections'' he gave his contact number in video too. The video got over 2 million views and over 100k likes, The CBI alerted the central government of the video, but said that it was going to be a peaceful protest and was nothing to worry about.


The Plan
One of the rioters, who was arrested by the police said that after he had texted Alexander, he had added him to a Whatsapp group chat called ''We will Avenge'' he said that Haroon told all of the rioters to gather at Wilmington on the 23th, and gave them instructions on what to do when they are in Wilmington. Alexander had promised the rioters hotel stays and food free of cost. He also said that the plan was to break into the Parliament during the yearly review speech conducted by the Speaker of the House, and to vandalise, steal Parliament documents, and to also steal files and records of bills.


The day of rioting
On 6:40 PM 24th April, Alexander along with over 25,000 people who were at the riot, took off from their hotels in Breton, and headed towards the Parliament Building. Upon arriving the rioters attacked the Parliament Police who were present at the spot. 4 policemen died as a result.
The rioters then broke windows of the parliament and vandalised the walls of the Parliament. The Speaker, who was giving her speech to all 600 Members of Parliament said that she heard the shatterings but thought nothing of it, The rioters managed to break into the House of Representatives Chamber which at the time was empty. The rioters broke the seats of the Representatives and even took videos of them breaking the Speaker's desk. The rioters also stole the laptop of the Speaker and took documents from the Speaker's desk.
The rioters split up. with a group of them going towards the Senate Chamber and a group of them going towards the Parliament chamber, in which the speech was being held.
At around 6:53 PM, police were called by witnesses outside.
The rioters entered the parliament chamber and stabbed the guards, One of the rioters tried to stab the Speaker but was stopped by the guards, who escorted the Speaker to safety. The rioters stabbed all four guards who were present and tried to stab MP's.
At around 6:58 PM police entered the Parliament and tazed some of the rioters, but the amount of rioters meant the police officers were quickly taken out. On 7:01 PM, The United States of Dictators Army (USDA)'s Wilmington Division were called by the police department.
Meanwhile inside the Parliament. It was reported that around 500 documents were stolen by the rioters and the rioters began to leave the Parliament. Alexander, who at the time was robbing a guard who he had stabbed, was instructing rioters to get out before the army came.
Fortunately, all 600 MP's managed to get out the Parliament. however around 20 Parliament Police had died inside the Parliament.
Around 15,000 people all of whom had the documents, got out of the Parliament and got into 10 buses that were hired by Haroon. But around 10,000 people including Alexander who were trying to get out of the Parliament got lost.
The USDA arrived at 7:10 PM and tazed all the remaining rioters, the SWAT division of the National Capital District Police had also arrived, The police arrested the rioters.


Aftermath
Rioters were dragged outside by police and taken to the police station. On 7:35 PM The Mayor of Wilmington ordered a 12 hour curfew of the city. The President's Palace was informed of the attack on 7:55 PM and President Dinc ordered the deployment of the USDA's NCD division. The NBI began a formal investigation on all who had escaped, and with the help of the SWAT team within a few weeks, all of the rioters were arrested.
On 24th May 2022, District Court for the National Capital District, met to discuss and bring charges against the rioters.
The Court charged the rioters with Treason against the state, by attempting to overthrow the government. The court also charged the rioters with vandalising government property, stealing confidential documents.


Punishment for the Rioters
Under Article I Section B of the Constitution, The punishment for treason is revoking citizenship status. The Judge ordered the removal of citizenship of 8,000 rioters. The rest of the rioters were sentenced to prison in life.


On 6th June, The Ministry of Immigration revoked citizenship of those 8,000 people as requested by the Court and they were deported from the United States of Dictators.
