The Military State of Tyramon is a massive, efficient nation, ruled by The Council of Hood with an iron fist, and renowned for its state-planned economy, avowedly heterosexual populace, and complete absence of social welfare. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless, devout population of 4.275 billion Tyramonians are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The medium-sized, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government is effectively ruled by the Department of Defense, although Law & Order is also considered important, while International Aid and Environment aren't funded at all. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Fort Domination. The average income tax rate is 79.5%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The powerhouse Tyramonian economy, worth a remarkable 1,162 trillion Golden Seashells a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is an enormous, deeply entrenched, broadly diversified black market in Arms Manufacturing, Uranium Mining, Information Technology, and Woodchip Exports. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. At the edge of the final frontier space's biggest missile platform is about to unfold, the government supplies ragtag bands of resistance fighters in exchange for vague promises of future payment, Dogman-branded weapons are all the rage in the militaristic comic-book community, and nuclear warheads are frequently launched into space as a warning to invading meteoroids. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force. Tyramon's national animal is the Viper Wolf, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is Patriotic Fervor.
