The Rogue Nation of Tranbian is a massive, genial nation, remarkable for its state-planned economy, ban on automobiles, and punitive income tax rates. The compassionate, democratic population of 1.482 billion Tranbianians are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The large, liberal, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Healthcare, Education, and Welfare. The average income tax rate is 68.4%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but inefficient Tranbianian economy, worth 74.0 trillion cats a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector is dominated by the Tourism industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology, Gambling, and Soda Sales. Average income is 49,921 cats, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Young children are regularly seen wagering pocket money at blackjack tables, the government is proud to report that ten percent of all tax revenue goes to funding suspected terrorist organizations, passengers often cause a stink on public transport, and woefully uninformed voters cast their ballots at random. Crime is totally unknown. Tranbian's national animal is the opossum, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.
