The People's Republic of Tianyou is a huge, socially progressive nation, renowned for its state-planned economy, frequent executions, and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate population of 633 million Tianyouneses enjoy extensive civil rights and enjoy a level of social equality free from the usual accompanying government corruption.

The medium-sized, liberal government juggles the competing demands of Education, Industry, and Defense. The average income tax rate is 31.9%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The strong Tianyounese economy, worth 46.3 trillion Yuan a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient, fairly diversified black market in Tourism, Basket Weaving, Pizza Delivery, and Trout Farming. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 73,120 Yuan, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

A suspicious number of male students have joined the Ladies' Wrestling League, grandparents tell young ones tales of the good old days when people had cake on their birthday, political candidates recite daily pledges of loyalty to their chosen party, and innocent defendants often plead guilty for fear of receiving a much harsher sentence before jury. Crime is totally unknown. Tianyou's national animal is the Bear, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Tianyou is ranked 34,536^th in the world and 609^th in The Communist Bloc for Highest Poor Incomes, with 55,254.72 Standard Monetary Units.
