The Republic of Thorn2012 is a colossal, orderly nation, notable for its infamous sell-swords, state-planned economy, and restrictive gun laws. The hard-nosed, cynical, humorless, devout population of 6.131 billion Thorn2012ians are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The nanny industry has had a boom after maternity leave was recently banned, small children are learning a lot of new words from a teacher with Tourette Syndrome, singles on the dating scene no longer worry about looking their age, and every day at 4am Thorn2012ians wake to pray for the sun to rise. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Thorn2012's national animal is the falcon, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to toxic air pollution.
