Agency Overview

Formed: Year 250, 18th Era
Preceding Agency: SRC RAS
Jurisdiction: Roman Government
Jurisdiction: and to ExAdA as of 18E 294*
Headquarters: New Genéve, URR
Motto: "Leading Humanity Forward"
Employees: 67,646 [18E 294]

The following will be a series of factbook entries that will be unlocked over the course of time as my space RP progresses.
E18 250: The United Roman Reich's Space Agency (ROSA) is created and a close relationship between the Reich Union and Felkesjud is established concerning space.
A deal is struck with the nation of Felkesjud:
*Felkesjud will gift one of its older FTL capable engines to the URR.
*Felkeswyeric Scientists and experts on Space Technology will be able to freely travel to the Reich Union as instructors and advisors to the Reich Union's space agency ROSA.
*Felkesjud will lease a couple of its trans-atmospheric heavy transports to the Reich Union until the URR is able to complete construction of its own new launch sites.
*The URR will give its Magnetohydrodynamic propulsion technology to Felkesjud.
*All Inventions and technology, developed by either nation, related to space and space travel (including weaponry) will henceforth, as of E18 250, be freely shared between the two nations.

Novan Star
Novan Star (NS-I) is a space station that operate in low Lerodan orbit. Novan Star is the first modular space station built by the Reich Union and intended to serve as a steping stone towards future endeavors in space. The station serve as a microgravity research laboratory in which crews conducte experiments in biology, human biology, physics, astronomy, meteorology and spacecraft systems with a goal of developing technologies required for permanent occupation of space.
Novan Star is also the first Roman continuously inhabited long-term research station in orbit, having the capacity to support a resident crew of 35, or larger crews for short term visits. The station was launched as part of the Reich Union's manned spaceflight programme effort to maintain a long-term research outpost in space.

MTS-II
The Heavy-duty Multipurpose Trans-atmospheric Shuttle – Mark II is the first domestically produced space shuttle produced within the Reich Union. Developed by valuable input from experienced Felkeswyeric scientist the Mark II was built to be the primary material and personnel carrying trans-atmospheric shuttle of the union. A fusion core powers the vessel that is built with one thing and one thing only in mind; durability. Not fast, nor possessing impressive flight capabilities, the Mark II prides itself with great modularity, a highly standardized component composition and overall easiness to maintain and repair. The Mark II was constructed with hard usage in mind and is planned to serve as the union's main shuttle system for many years to come.

Deinden Videri
After the establishment of a permanent Roman presence in space with the completion of Novan Star ROSA looked for further advancement of technology. The Reich Union therefor turned to the S.F.R of Sovaji whom were willing to sell one of their Stanford Torus type space stations to the union. The space station which received the Roman name Deinden Videri could house a population of 100 000. Vastly superior to the Novan Star. The entire station was converted into a research center for space research and development of new space related technology..

RRS-原型 Ginnokaze
The Ginnokaze is the first FTL equipped space ship ever built by the Reich Union. The main reason for its construction, while the Reich Union was still a young nation in space, was thanks to invaluable input and cooperation from the Republic of Felkesjud and its scientists. It was constructed as a prototype and testing ground for future ships. It's main purpose was to serve as a testing ground for development of technologies related to FTL capable space ships. It was constructed with a larger hull then necessary, leaving room for improvements and extensions of shipboard systems. She mainly conducted trails and tests of different sensor systems as well as experimentations with the engines and power systems.

Hōyō Skinsuit
The Model 284 “Hōyō” Skinsuit is a type of lightduty spacesuit used by Roman space personnel while on duty and inside facilities. In contrast to cosmonauts spacesuits for spacewalking, the skinsuit is much less cumbersome; much like the difference between a diver's wet suit and a traditional tethered hardhelmet suit. Skinsuits provide some resistance to mechanical damage (eg, debris from an explosion), and are able to provide air (and plumbing) in a vacuum environment (eg, after battle damage had produced leaks). It is standard naval procedure to wear skinsuits when naval combat is expected; to substantially reduce casualties. The skinsuit has a built in life-support system for emergencies and, in case of an air-breach the valves (connecting the suit's atmosphere with the facilities) will close automatically in 0.76 seconds.

Like the headgear of military Hardsuits, the helmet is the situational awareness hub of the skinsuit. It includes integrated tactical processing by providing information on shipboard systems, and data with a 180° emissive visor display, high bandwidth wireless communications, microelectronic/optics sensor suite that provides 360° situational awareness. The visor itself is made out by a special “smartglass” which can turn transparent upon lack of power, thus offering direct visuals.
The helmet is connected to the wearers Neurolink which together with suit integrated medical sensors collect and monitor information regarding vital signs such as body temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, hydration and stress levels, sleep status, body positioning and workload capacity of the warrior. If necessary, the wearer's status will be sent to notify medical personnel and commanders if the wearer has been wounded or has become fatigued.

Marine skinsuits are similar but less comfortable and flexible, but provide more protection against damage, including from some kinds of small arms fire. The standard Hōyō Skinsuit is incompatible for numerous reasons with work in any shipboard environment where fine work in close cramped quarters may be required. For heavy work in vacuum conditions, as in an orbital shipyard, heavier duty suits are used which often include small maneuvering units (ie, thruster jets), special tool storage, communication equipment, etc..

SSY-1
The first Roman orbital shipyard equiped with four major dry docks for construction of capital ships. The SSY-1 is manned by 10 300 workers out of which the majority is Ship-construction personnel. After the launch of the Roman Space Navy initiative and the construction of the 1th Generation Space navy the SSY-1 came to get a bad reputation given the sloppy procedures under which the 1th Gen ships were built. The 1th Gen Roman extralerodan navy started construction in 270 E18.

Chūkūtamashī
The Chūkūtamashī's construction started in late 18E 271 and has been in construction ever since. The space station is a sprawling mini-city constructed in and around a hollowed out asteroid. One side of the asteroid is filled with protruding structures that makes out the military docks, dry docks and shipyards of the station. The Chūkūtamashī's military docks are the main harbor for the Reich Union's Interstellar Defence force. The structures within the asteroid are made out of living quarters, research facilities and industrial plants. The asteroid itself got an overal length of 11 036 m. The Chūkūtamashī got a crew of 55 400 thousand..

Raitoningu Defence Platform
Roman Orbital Defence Platform constructed to autonomously defend valuable space assets such as space stations and construction yards. The platform is powered by nuclear reactor and thus does not require constant fueling like other types of Roman Fusion powered technology. It is armed with 66 anti-ship missile launchers and one main ultraviolet laser cannon with a 3.2 m lens giving the platform a firing range of up to 12 900 km.
