ATGH Navy Corps (. . .Work in progress)

- NAVY CORPS -

- Overview -
The ATGH, territorially speaking, is a colossal nation that is surrounded on all sides by water, it spans an entire continent, as well as the countless archipelagos within it's territorial waters, not counting these archipelagos, it has over thirty five thousand kilometers of continental coastline, and a surface area of over 2.5 billion Squared Kilometers (730 million Squared Nautical Miles) of territorial waters to actively monitor. Also, the geological land mass of the nation of over 314 million squared kilometers, is one which holds a sprawling network of over 50 million kilometers of rivers, lakes, and other bodies of inland water, from the very largest to the smallest. What all of these intimidating numbers and statistics on the ATGH's collection of H2O ultimately mean, is that the nation has an ever present need for a formidable maritime and riverine force capable of monitoring and defending the large bodies of water pertinent to it's sphere of influence, and the waterways that connect them. Enter the ATGH Navy Corps.

The Navy Corps consists of six commands, five which are "blue water" capable, and one which is limited to "brown water" operations, also, out of these six commands, four are considered passive, tasked with the defense of all bodies of water surrounding the ATGH, one is considered aggressive, tasked with offensive operations where ever they may be needed around the globe, and the final command, is for littoral, or riverine operations. These commands are Northern Command, Eastern Command, Southern Command, and Western Command for the defense of territorial waters, although these four commands are fully capable of blue water operations, they fulfill a "green water" role. The remaining commands are Expeditionary Command for offensive blue water operations in non-territorial waters, and Home Command for "brown water" operations in rivers, lakes, fjords, and inland seas deep inside the ATGH.

Each command contains five fleets, with exception to Home Command, which contains one fleet, Northern Command, Eastern Command, Southern Command, Western Command, and Expeditionary Command altogether contain 25 fleets, all commands bring that total to 26 fleets.

The Blue Water Fleets (1st - 25th Fleets)
--------------------------------------------------

The fleets with blue water command capability each consist of five battle groups (BG's), each battle group in turn contains five divisional "direct attack" squadrons. An individual attack squadron is composed of 2 aircraft carriers (each with their compliment of 200 multirole aircraft or 16 air squadrons combined), 4 amphibious assault carriers, 4 fleet support vessels, 6 cruisers, 8 destroyers, 16 frigates, 32 heavy corvettes, 6 fast attack submarines, and 2 strategic ballistic/guided missile submarines, making for a total of 80 vessels, and 400 aircraft per divisional attack squadron, in addition, each vessel of a squadron, (submarines not included) from an Aircraft Carrier to the diminutive Corvette carry what are called Close In Buoyant Engagement Robots or CIBER's in compact internal bays, CIBER's are small, robotic gunboats (similar to patrol boats) whose functions can be controlled by their corresponding mother vessel's AI, or can be manually controlled by their mammalian handlers. Apart from their attack function however, they can serve a limited rescue/lifeboat function, in the advent of ship or fleet destruction each of these speedboat androids could haul or tug 20 to 25 survivors to safer waters, land, or an intact vessel. A divisional squadron will hold 500 CIBERS, they can be deployed by both the highest ranking personnel currently on the vessel, or the vessel's onboard AI. The divisional attack squadron (DAS) is the smallest organizational unit in the blue water capable Navy Corps. The vessels which compose a DAS are crewed and operated by a total of 12,500 personnel, this number includes officers and enlisted. Below are how these numbers are distributed per vessel.

2 X Aircraft Carrier - 2000 personnel / 400 officers, 1600 enlisted, 80 CIBER - per vessel.

4 X Amphibious Assault Carrier - 500 personnel (not counting the passenger brigade) / 100 officers, 400 enlisted, 20 CIBER - per vessel.

4 X Fleet Support Vessel - 125 personnel / 5 officers, 120 enlisted, 5 CIBER - per vessel.

6 X Missile Cruiser - 200 personnel / 40 officers, 160 enlisted, 8 CIBER - per vessel.

8 X Destroyer - 150 personnel / 30 officers, 120 enlisted, 6 CIBER - per vessel.

16 X Frigate - 125 personnel / 25 officers, 100 enlisted, 5 CIBER - per vessel.

32 X Corvette - 25 personnel / 10 officers, 15 enlisted, 2 CIBER - per vessel.

Below is an example of a Close In Buoyant Engagement Robot (CIBER)

. . . and for the subsurface fleet.

6 X Fast Attack Submarine - 100 personnel / 25 officers, 75 enlisted - per vessel.

2 X Ballistic Missile Submarine - 100 personnel / 25 officers, 75 enlisted - per vessel.

The Brown Water Fleet (26th Fleet)
--------------------------------------------------

The singular brown water fleet of Home Command consists mainly of light, and medium corvettes, hover craft of all dimensions for transport, medical, and command purposes, and also riverine gunboat craft. Unlike the fleets of the other commands, 26th Fleet is also comprised of 5 Battle Groups, but unlike 1st - 25th fleets, the divisional formations of "HC" 26th Fleet are not called DAS or "Divisional Attack Squadrons", the business of this fleet is to navigate the labyrinthine inland waters/waterways of the continent, so it's 12,500 strong divisional formations are referred to as Divisional Task Force, or (DTF's), of which there are 5 per BG, the formations of 26th Fleet get smaller though, with the next level of organized formation being the Riverine Battle Group (RBG's), of which a DTF has 5, the following organized formation is the Riverine Task Froce (RTF's), of which an RBG is also comprised of 5, and the smallest and final organizational unit of 26th Fleet is the Littoral Squadron (LS), of which an RTF is comprised of 4.

The Littoral Squadron is comprised of 6 corvette ships, ("ship" being the term given to a major vessel with a permanent crew) and an assortment of Soft Cushion Hovercraft Boats with such assorted purposes as transportation, reconnaissance, missiles/fire support, electronic warfare, front line medical needs, and supply/support roles. The Littoral Squadron can be deployed, or divided into sub groups however the Littoral Squadron Commander (LSC) deems necessary within the area of operations assigned to the LS

In total, the Navy Corps consist of 8,125,000 personnel

So . . . how so few men?
The technology of Naval Vessels in the ATGH

When contemplating the vessels that make up the formations of the Navy Corps, and the relatively modest numbers that it takes to crew these ships in comparison to other conventional naval platforms of similar size and scope of purpose, it might become easy to ask - "BUT HOW!?", this can be answered by the fact that the ATGH is among few nations that are on the cutting edge of fusion drive, robotics, and AI technologies to name a modest few, and be it Informational, Terrestrial, Naval, Arial, or Cosmic warfare, these technologies have become deeply entrenched into all aspects of the ATGH's self defense forces over the past half century.
When it comes to naval fleets, battle groups, and squadrons, the vessels comprising these formations are little more than fusion drive powered, AI assisted, Buoyant armor plated robots, with internal cavities for the supplies, equipment, and weapons that their small, bipedal mammalian overlords require. . . to put it as bluntly as possible.
