The Fylkirate of Svipjoth is a massive, orderly nation, ruled by Fylkir Pjotur II Arngrimsson with an iron fist, and remarkable for its rum-swilling pirates, frequent executions, and absence of drug laws. The compassionate, cynical, devout population of 2.05 billion Svips are ruled with an iron fist by the dictatorship government, which ensures that no-one outside the party gets too rich. In their personal lives, however, citizens are relatively unoppressed; it remains to be seen whether this is because the government genuinely cares about its people, or if it hasn't gotten around to stamping out civil rights yet.

The large, corrupt, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Education, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Uppsala. The average income tax rate is 92.9%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Svipish economy, worth 310 trillion Gullins a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is quite specialized, is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with major contributions from Information Technology, Tourism, and Book Publishing. Average income is an impressive 151,243 Gullins, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 2.1 times as much as the poorest.

The nationalistic national anthem inspires citizens to literally spit at foreigners, 4-year-olds are often found reminiscing about the 'good old days', the "war on terror" doesn't seem to be making Svips any less frightened, and concert halls sport signs proclaiming "No Shorts, Sandals or Swastikas". Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Svipjoth's national animal is the Grizzly Bear, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is Grjotgardism.
