The Socialist Queendom of Strawvya is a massive, orderly nation, ruled by Queen Ludmila Ostapenko with an iron fist, and remarkable for its ritual sacrifices, punitive income tax rates, and restrictive gun laws. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 2.035 billion Strawvyans are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The enormous, corrupt, moralistic, socially-minded, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defense, and Welfare. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Strawberry City. The average income tax rate is 73.4%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but stagnant Strawvyan economy, worth 31.4 trillion Strawberry Bucks a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient black market in Information Technology, Book Publishing, Automobile Manufacturing, and Beef-Based Agriculture. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 15,407 Strawberry Bucks, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Excited shovel-bearing geeks wander the countryside, cancer rates amongst the richest in society are inexplicably on the rise, Queen Ludmila Ostapenko has been self-declared as the Most Supreme Magnificent Overlord of Everything You Ever Saw, and Queen Ludmila Ostapenko is the self-declared God of all Strawvya. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Strawvya's national animal is the Tiger, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is Strawvyan Esotericism.
