Arranged Marriage and Dating Culture

Arranged marriage is vehemently banned within Ruotsaland, as it is considered a form of coercion within Ruotsi law. Additionally, any Ruotsi citizen who engages in it while abroad, and seeks to bring back their (non-citizen) spouse to the country under this practice will not have their marriage recognized, which means that they will not be able to come as a couple under family reunification law and/or cannot be able to receive financial support from the state as a couple.

Instead, it is most likely that people meet through friends, with the rise of dating apps expanding that pool, but not by much.
