All citizens of Ruotsaland have to participate in the military for at least 1 year: 6 months of active training and duty, and 6 months of on-call duty. If you pass through your military service with no sanctions, this serves as your license. Non-citizens and those citizens who have been sanctioned during their military service, therefore, cannot legally own firearms in Ruotsaland.
