The Change of Currency to the Ruotsi Mark

The currency of the Republic of Ruotsaland, formerly the krona, has now been converted to the “Ruotsi mark”, as part of “The Future of Ruotsaland Act”, removing symbolism to the past monarchy to be representative of the republican image of the current Ruotsaland.

Citizens and residents of the Republic of Ruotsaland have until the date of 1 January 2024 to submit their paper and coin currency to the Bank of Ruotsaland for a 1:1 conversion to the Ruotsi mark. After this date, submitted currency will only be converted to the value of that day of the krona against the Ruotsi mark. By 1 January 2025, any further submitted kronor will be considered “scrap donations” and will not be compensated.
