The Floating-Cross Flag

Upon the creation of The Free Land of Pasture Lands in The North Pacific, on 5 February 2023, The Farmer's Association and the Union of Agricultural Workers demanded that an agrarian themed flag be adopted by the new nation. However, the National Council of Christian Churches had already proposed a green Celtic Cross to symbolize that a received agricultural bounty was only possible through the benevolent blessings of God.

The Agriculturalists presented six different flag designs of pastoral themes, with a rolling pastureland surrounded by forest achieving the highest approval ratings in public polls. Undeterred, the Churchmen persisted in demanding the Green Celtic Cross design.

In the end, a compromise was reached under the mediation efforts of military leaders, who emphasized that military personnel would die defending this new flag. Thus, the rolling field was chosen, but with the Cross floating in the sky above the field, to show the ultimate dependency of the lands below upon the blessings of almighty God.

The distinctive Floating-Cross Flag waves over The Free Land of Pasture Lands to this very day.
