The Great Forest of Ordand is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Alexandra Winters with a fair hand, and remarkable for its daily referendums, state-planned economy, and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate, democratic population of 4.454 billion Ordandites are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The government — a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, outspoken morass — juggles the competing demands of Education, Environment, and Healthcare. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Ottosen. The average income tax rate is 83.3%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The all-consuming Ordandite economy, worth 312 trillion Soljoes a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is highly specialized, is led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Tourism, Basket Weaving, and Automobile Manufacturing. Average income is 70,078 Soljoes, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The fire brigade often deal with cases of burnt toast, families are left homeless as entire suburbs are bulldozed on the whim of tribal chiefs, citizens are deployed to barren deserts to protect small territorial claims, and citizens are allowed to rise or fall based on their own merits. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Ordand's national animal is the Tardigrade, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

Ordand is ranked 189,516th in the world and 221st in Forest for Fattest Citizens, with 8.56 Obesity Rate.
