The Republic of Nicersdah is a huge, safe nation, notable for its compulsory military service, parental licensing program, and irreverence towards religion. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 670 million Nicersdahians are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The government — a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, well-organized morass — juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defense, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Corinamax. The average income tax rate is 77.7%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The Nicersdahian economy, worth 20.7 trillion Nicers a year, is highly specialized and mostly made up of the Uranium Mining industry, with significant contributions from Basket Weaving. Days begin with afternoon tea, captains must wait until all rats are safe before jumping ship, Nicersdahian soldiers are assured their new ray-guns will finally power up after the next round of ominous chanting, and Nicersdah has designated Corinamax as its capital city. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Nicersdah's national animal is the Eagle.
