The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic, humorless population of 16.457 billion Montïans are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The minute, corrupt, pro-business government, or what there is of one, prioritizes Defense, although Industry, Administration, and Education are also considered important, while Spirituality and Law & Order receive no funds. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Diamond City. Income tax is unheard of.

The frighteningly efficient Montï economy, worth a remarkable 5,262 trillion dollars a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Information Technology industry, with major contributions from Arms Manufacturing, Retail, and Gambling. Crime, especially youth-related, is so common that it is unusual to encounter someone following the law, perhaps because of the country's complete lack of prisons. Montination's national animal is the ghoul, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is Survival.
