The Local Councillor of Melicorium is a massive, efficient nation, ruled by President Stan Melix with a fair hand, and notable for its museums and concert halls, state-planned economy, and punitive income tax rates. The hard-nosed, democratic population of 2.446 billion Melicorians are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown. Melicorium's national animal is the sea lion, which frolics freely in the nation's sparkling oceans.
