Declaration On Realm Of The Whispering Winds: The Story

Why did I submit Declaration On Realm Of The Whispering Winds to the Security Council? See the following excerpt from an article from The Wolfist Tribune:

When Xvraks logged in, he ejected and banned the Defender units involved in the plan. Understandably angry at having been ignored and sidelined when it came to his own region’s security and future, not to mention the small matter of having just fought off an attempt to remove him from the Delegacy, he made a public post in the SC thread to call them out for their actions. By this point, the damage to all sides involved in the region (which were supposedly all working towards the same goal of securing R2W) was already pretty long: the Defenders were now acting in open opposition to the native Delegate, and half their pilers were now in TRR, Skiva appears to have been caught unaware of when they’d actually pull their maneuver, and Xvraks had had to burn through all the influence he could have used for the transition just to keep Defenders at bay.

Defenders doubled down. Despite Xvraks publicly denouncing the effort, despite the banjections signaling what he thought of their plan, and despite explicitly telling Defenders on the WFE to halt their efforts, Defenders decided to just keep going. Defenders moved in fresh pilers, they had the ones still there switch their endorsements, and they explicitly ignored the will of the native Delegate to pursue their own. At this point, though, raiders started to take notice in the thread and called out the blatant coup attempt, and at this point it can only be called a coup attempt. LWU, always happy to throw their Defender enemies’ plans into disarray, even started moving in a small piler force to back Xvraks, as did various observers. At this point, the chaos reached its peak - Skiva, through Books Rule Supreme, assisted the Defender forces by ejecting the Xvraks-aligned piler nations they could and declared themselves more or less in favor of the plot to replace Xvraks with Jolx, a number of LWU pilers switched to nations with leftover influence in R2W and continued to back Xvraks, some Defender nations switched from Jolx back to Xvraks, and TITO continued to pour in pilers to overthrow Xvraks and replace him with Jolx.

The ERN appears to have been the first Defender org to flip. With roughly an hour and a half to go until minor update, several ERN-flagged nations withdrew their endorsements from Jolx and endorsed Xvraks. Shortly thereafter, the League appears to have followed suit, although TITO initially seems to still have moved pilers in to endorse Jolx, creating the bizarre situation where Defenders squared off against Defenders backing different natives, before ultimately TITO too backed down and issued a half-hearted apology for f[******] things up. At the time of writing, Xvraks is still in the Delegacy, without about half of the influence he had before Defenders attempted to coup him, Realm of the Whispering Winds is now subjected to the fifth resolution applied to it (soon to be SCR#502, Repeal "Injunct Realm of the Whispering Winds"), which grants it the dubious distinction of the second largest number of resolutions ever applied to a single region, and the entire World Assembly got to watch the clusterf[***] unfold.

I encourage you to read the full article for the complete context. Here is also an excerpt from Xvrak's message to the Security Council:
Given the defenders are now taking it upon themselves to attempt to decide themselves what the fate of the region is with NO consultation to myself, and continuously circumventing the will of the natives, I hearby REVOKE my native support of this resolution. If the Security council sees fit to condemn and comment ROWW for the repeated issues, so be it.

I have spent years in this realm. Over a decade at this point. I have devoted myself to it time and time again. I will not see its fate being decided without the consultation of natives and ESPECIALLY myself by foreign nations, whether it be defenders OR raiders. This is OUR realm. Not theirs.

I would sooner open the doors and allow the raiders to have the realm and watch it burn on the distance as I set for new seas than have even defenders deciding for myself and my officers. Had they done their job in the first place, we would not currently be in this situation and we could have made the transition to more secure power far sooner. You do not get to fail in your duties and then make demands.

In closing and to reiterate: as the defenders are taking it upon themselves to make decisions for the realm without my consultation repeatedly, I, Captain Xaphan Vraks, Admiral of the United Fleet of Xvraks, WA Delegate to the Realm of the Whispering winds, herby and without prejudice, REVOKE my support of this resolution.

And from an older message:
Passing this resolution means simply one thing: the will of natives is entirely meaningless to a game we have no true choice but to be a part of. The defenders will mark their history here as their stance on the raider menace, at the cost of Native Regional wishes.

I, Xaphan Vraks, Admiral of the Allied Fleet of Xvraks, Former Deck Officer, Elected Official, and Long time Representative of the Realm of the Whispering Winds, denounce and vote against this resolution.

It is clear that the powers of the Security Council meant to support regional sovereignty and security were, in the case of Realm Of The Whispering Winds, turned against the Council's own mandate. The actions done with the support of the Council's powers have weakened the region's sovereignty and security. The Council must declare that this is not acceptable so that future operations with Council support respect regional sovereignty and enhance regional security.
