The People's Republic of La Isla Tropic is a huge, orderly nation, remarkable for its frequent executions, punitive income tax rates, and devotion to social welfare. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 209 million Tropicans are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The industrial sector, which is highly specialized, is mostly made up of the Trout Farming industry, with significant contributions from Information Technology and Beef-Based Agriculture. Average income is 37,594 Tropic Pesos, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Hammer and sickle-wielding space marines are such stuff that dreams are made on, retirement homes are often fitted with luxurious suites, Leader's office has a newly installed Max-Man arcade game programmed by a 5th-grader, and diplomats shake hands with their right and hide a poison dagger in their left. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. La Isla Tropic's national animal is the Tropical Eagle, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies.
