Animal life

The animal life of Kwaj is notable for it's extreme danger to humans. Most all land creatures are fatal to eat, while many possess defense mechanisms such as poison quills, sharp teeth, razor like claws or overly pungent odors. Most residents fear to tread outside clearly noted safe zones, and when heading into the wild, large, heavily armed parties are really the only way to go. Many couples have 4-5 children as on average each family loses 2.3 kids to fatal wildlife encounters before they reach the age of 18. In this way they can ensure that at least a couple of their offspring reach adulthood.
