The Arakami Kingdom of Komashi is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, ruled by Kamisato Amane with an iron fist, and notable for its state-planned economy, sprawling nuclear power plants, and irreverence towards religion. The hard-nosed, cynical population of 2.221 billion Komashijin are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."

The medium-sized, corrupt, well-organized government is primarily concerned with Defense, although Law & Order, Education, and Welfare are also considered important. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Shikoku-Minato. The average income tax rate is 24.0%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The Komashijin economy, worth 158 trillion Komashi yen a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. However, for those in the know, there is a slick, highly efficient, broadly diversified black market in Arms Manufacturing, Trout Farming, Information Technology, and Gambling. The private sector mostly consists of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, but the government is looking at stamping this out. Average income is 71,379 Komashi yen, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The nation's youth would rather watch paint dry than the news, Kamisato Amane's iHouse is so intelligent that it manages its own social media accounts, shouting contests are an important part of government job interviews, and it is illegal to have the wrong clock time showing on your microwave oven. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Komashi's national animal is the fox, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its national religion is Arakami-shiki.
