Economic policies
After the establishment of the more liberal republic and the overthrowing of the totalitarian state, the federal government began loosening the state's grip on businesses. This process has been slow however, as political resistance has been strong in the more pro state branch of the Legislative Yuan (detailed in the upcoming political history page of the factbook), who have been in an active struggle to maintain their state owned monopolies or truly believe that a return of private businesses would be the return of another oppressive and exploitative bourgeoisie classTo make it clear, private businesses in Gretarian mean that the business makes its own decisions, and the government do not make decisions or put state officials in charge of corporations.
All private businesses except the very local and small businesses are collectively run and organised by trade unions.
Banks are either collective or state owned
The government takes a strong stance on protectionism
And overall businesses are tightly regulated against predatory monopolistic behaviour
Rest is pretty self explanatory from Gretarian's overview page
