Jaywalking is punishable by public flogging, police nightsticks see use all day long, indigenous tribal elders can be recognised by their designer watches and expensive suits, and Wilhelm Gerhardt has just been declared ruler of Gernmark in an international press conference. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Gernmark's national animal is the Great Eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to toxic air pollution.
