Media Ratings in Gandoor

The Democratic Republic of Gandoor uses rating systems for television series, movies, and video games. While media distributors are not required by law to utilize them, most choose to do so, being that most stores in Gandoor refuse to stock items which are not rated for content.

Movies

A - All ages admitted, contains no content which parents could find objectionable. Movies rated this are generally suggested to people starting at the age of 3. Examples: Toy Story, The Little Mermaid

OA - Older audiences, contains mild objectionable content. Movies rated this are generally suggested to people starting at the age of 10. Examples: Harry Potter series, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Star Wars

RA - Restricted audiences, contains objectionable content that most parents may find objectionable. Movies rated this are generally suggested to people starting at the age of 15. Examples: A Clockwork Orange, The Shining

R20 - Restricted audiences 20+, the only legally enforceable rating for movies, movies rated R20 cannot be sold to anyone under the age of 20, doing so is a criminal offence in Gandoor punishable by a 350 gdyn fine.

Television

5 - Suitable for ages 5 and up. Examples: Dora the Explorer, Thomas and Friends

10 - Suitable for ages 10 and up. Examples: Pokémon, Transformers: Prime

12 - Suitable for ages 12 and up. Examples: Doctor Who, Adventure Time

15 - Suitable for ages 15 and up. Examples: Family Guy, American Dad

20 - Suitable for ages 20 and up. Examples: South Park, The Walking Dead

Video Games

Same content rating system as television, only the 20 rating for video games is enforced by law, much like the R20 rating for movies.
