The Free Land of ETR is a huge, safe nation, remarkable for its burgeoning deer population. The compassionate, democratic population of 364 million ETRians are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The medium-sized, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Education, Welfare, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 39.5%, but much higher for the wealthy.

The sizeable but underdeveloped ETRian economy, worth 11.5 trillion coins a year, is led by the Furniture Restoration industry, with major contributions from Trout Farming, Uranium Mining, and Book Publishing. State-owned companies are common. Average income is 31,550 coins, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

The government recently donated a surfboard to an impoverished family in a landlocked region, bike rage is all the rage, nose plugs are the latest ETRian fashion accessory, and a popular saying is "don't do the crime if you can't smash the lime(stone)". Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown. ETR's national animal is the deer, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests.

ETR is ranked 166,877^th in the world and 117^th in Forest for Largest Cheese Export Sector, scoring 1,631.77 on the Mozzarella Productivity Index.
