The Empire of Darkmondoria is a massive, efficient nation, ruled by A with an iron fist, and notable for its public floggings, smutty television, and irreverence towards religion. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical, humorless population of 1.477 billion Darkmondorians are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

The relatively small, corrupt, pro-business, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Industry, Defense, and Education. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 9.7%.

The frighteningly efficient Darkmondorian economy, worth 252 trillion Euros a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Retail industry, with major contributions from Information Technology, Arms Manufacturing, and Gambling. Black market activity is frequent. Average income is an impressive 171,214 Euros, but there is a large disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 755,225 per year while the poor average 24,324, a ratio of 31.0 to 1.

Citizens have to dodge their neighbors' drones while getting the morning paper, kids these days know how to throw a proper punch, children gain their first sex education from reading the dictionary, and homeowners on prime real estate have been seen dodging giant bulldozers with cartoon characters painted on them. Crime is a major problem, perhaps because of the country's complete lack of prisons. Darkmondoria's national animal is the Deer, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its national religion is Mondoria.
