The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical, humorless, devout population of 3.381 billion Crisitts are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The large, corrupt, moralistic, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Administration. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Hadjno. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 66.4%.

The frighteningly efficient Crisisinian economy, worth 360 trillion Hakkles a year, is quite specialized and dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with significant contributions from Retail, Gambling, and Pizza Delivery. Black market activity is rampant. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is an impressive 106,673 Hakkles, but there is a large disparity between incomes, with the richest 10% of citizens earning 500,220 per year while the poor average 13,562, a ratio of 36.9 to 1.

Baby boys who pick up pink crayons are sent to a psychiatric ward, couch potatoes are considered to be model citizens, bins outnumber trees in city parks, and newborns are being raised as mindless killing machines. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Crisis's national animal is the Grub, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its national religion is Worshippers of the Bountiful Sky.

Crisis is ranked 5,585^th in the world and 155^th in the Rejected Realms for Most Advanced Defense Forces, scoring 13,822.58 on the Total War Preparedness Rating.
